Candidates on ‘The Bachelor’ Can’t Consume Any Media or Books, With the Exception of The Bible
A lot of people are infatuated by the dating TV show THE BACHELOR where a single man spends time with pre-selected women and over the course of several weeks, after several dates with each woman, the ‘bachelor’ must choose one woman, and decide if he wants to propose. Candidates on the show are secluded from the outside world over the course of the season in order to create drama. According to the website TheThings, one of the many rules for the candidates on THE BACHELOR is that no media or any internet is allowed. No movies or books are allowed. The only exception is that people can bring their Bibles. On Season 17, where openly Christian Sean Lowe was the Bachelor, some of the women brought their Bibles and had daily devotions every morning.
For producers that are trying to create drama and conflict between the candidates, it’s odd that they would allow people to bring a book that teaches Christians to be slow to speak and slow to anger, something that if practiced would be a conflict-killer. Regardless, good for them for letting the candidates bring their Bibles.
